charged for doggy bag?
I know we're weird here in California, but I just got charged (only .25, but it's the principle) for
asking for a doggy bag for my leftovers at a restaurant in Pacific Grove. We have a new law
they can't use styrofoam, so they probably have to pay a little more for paper cartons.
WLS people who go out to eat usually can't eat the whole shibang - I always have some to
take home and eat later. I am annoyed that this may be the wave of the future, and wonder
if anyone else has experienced this? It was a little diner, independently owned.

Yeah, a couple time, although it's been three or four years.
If you eat out regularly in areas where they charge for the take out containers, it might be worth it to carry a couple of the Glad or similar food containers or bags. A friend of mine takes them to work parties and other catered events at hotels where they won't give you the take out containers. The first time I saw her pull the containers out, I was shocked, especially when she took the desserts set out for my father and brother, who had had to leave for an appointment. But it makes too much sense.

That's the same place that we got charged the first time it happened! We were on vacation at the time.

How funny! I used to eat there all the time. My mom hates that place but i LOVE Dos Amigos. No wonder why they looked at me weird the last time I ate there (which was last week) and asked for a doggy bag. I wonder if they charged me? I didn't even look...
I'll make sure I look next time and I am sure I will say something. That is no bueno!

Guess it's time to start placing ziploc bags in our purses. I have never heard of such a thing. I mean come on, brown bags are not that much money. How sad it's come to this, pretty soon we will be charged for the air we breath!
Tell Jaime what resturant it is, she won't go there.
Maybe these people that own this place are from Carmel, where they do charge for air.
My 2 cents
